Frances Jeanne Hodges Day – March 13, 2013
Frances Jeanne Hodges Day, 92, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
Services will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2013, in First Presbyterian Church with Paul Frederiksen officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Frances Jeanne Hodges Day was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Jacksboro. Jeanne was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Amarillo Garden Club, and Daughter’s of the Nile where she was Queen in 1963, became a life member in 1965, and captain of the Patrol.
Jeanne loved her family and friends dearly and cherished her special relationship with each.
She was preceded in death in 1948, by her sister, Betty Ruth Ravey Redus; a cousin, Robert Lee Griffin Ravey; her father, Emil “Speed” Ravey; in 1978, by her mother, Amy Ruth McConnell Ravey; her husbands, John Robert Hodges, Jr. and William Arnot Day; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Tapp Hodges.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Lee Hodges of Pearland; a daughter, Paige Ann Bonilla and husband Bo of Frisco; a son, John Robert Hodges, III and wife Maureen of Amarillo; a stepson, Kirk Day and wife Betty of Eugene, Oregon; a stepdaughter, Kim Day of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Chris Hodges, Mindy Hodges Jones, Trevor Bonilla, Tanner Bonilla, Brittney Bonilla Dellinger, Treyce Hodges, Kayla Hodges, Theresa Wicks, Patricia Baye, Caryssa Clausen, Shauna Day, Alexis Day; nieces Duanne Redus and Amy Lee Ramey and their families; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 6977 Main St., Houston, Texas 77030-3701
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the funeral home.
