Allie Mae Catlette Daniel, 93, died peacefully in her sleep in Rancho Santa Fe, California the afternoon of January 12, 2014.
Mrs. Daniel was born on December 23, 1920 in Franklin County, N.C. to William Howard Catlette and Allie Woodlief Catlette. She grew up in Franklin County at Green Hill Farm before moving to the Rolesville area. Mrs. Daniel graduated from Rolesville High School and Mrs. Heaths Secretarial College and worked for the UCC and Westinghouse in Raleigh before retiring in 1981.
She married Spurgeon Charles Daniel on January 23, 1940 and celebrated 55 years of marriage until his death on August 31, 1995. They were a well known couple in Rolesville with their giving and loving nature and community service with Meals on Wheels, the Rolesville Fire Department and the Lions Club.
She is predeceased by her parents and seven siblings. Surviving are her two children, her daughter Phyllis (wife of John Holden Parrish) of Rancho Santa Fe, Ca. and her son William Larry Daniel (husband of Judy Daniel), five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest on Sunday, January 19, 2014 between 7 and 8:30 PM with burial the following day at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, officiated by Rev. J. Marshall Neathery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Rolesville Baptist Church that she was a member of for over 65 years and the Rolesville Fire Department.
