VETERAN
Gene Sidney Severns, born August 27, 1927, at his home in Corvallis, Montana, passed away November 19, 2012.
Gene graduated from Hamilton High School and was drafted in the United States Navy when he was 17. He served during World War II from 1945 to 1949. He worked as a butcher his whole life.
His passions in life were hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He even hunted and fished last year. He enjoyed gardening and maintained the lawn for the whole block for many years. He was a very good man, husband, and father, and had a soft heart for his pets, but you had to find it first.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sister, Gail; and blended family of nine children: Betty Jean, Dobbie (Sondra), Devie Jo, David (Sheri), Rick (Deanna), Renee, Roger (Deb) and Edie; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and very special, friend Leann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Ray Severns; Misty Dingman; David Dingman; and Ashley Baier.
A short military service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Gene's residence at 3210 Keck St.
