  She was supposedly a Cherokee Indian who lived to be 104 years old. (From the notes of Georgia Ann Nichols who was her great-granddaughter.) There is a Penina SORRELS age 82, b NC, in the Bedford Co., TN 1850 Census, living in the household of George and Anna DAVIS. The name Melinda was used by 3 of the children in naming their girls, so her (the mother of Edward's children) name could have been Melinda! Millie has a daughter named Pernina Jane/Jane Pernina Davis. She may have gone to MO with Anna and George as I can no longer find this Penina in TN after 1850. (Sherry S. Finchum)
