Living in the household of Elizabeth Wilcox was David Williams, age 40, born Haywood Co. North Carolina. This was probably a brother or cousin of Jane (Williams) Clark. The child, A. J. Wilcox was actually named Andrew Jackson Wilcox. He eventually moved to Williamson Co. where he married Sarah Morgan. They then moved to Bell Co., Hill County and then to Mills Co., all in TX and then to Hamilton Co. where they lived until their death. A.J. signed the Application for Confederate Pension of Dr. H.T. Clark. On that application he states" He has known Dr. Clark from childhood". Dr. Clark was actually A.J. Wilcox's uncle, even though they were nearly the same age. A. J. & Sarah Wilcox are buried in the Carriage Hills Cemetery, Hamilton Co., Texas. No further information has been obtained pertaining to a second marriage of Elizabeth (Clark) Wilcox, the mother of A.J. Wilcox. (I have a copy of the mariage license of A.J. Wilcox. I also have a copy of his Death Certificate). (I grew up in Hamilton, Texas and went to school with Charles Wilcox. Charles was a descendant of A.J. Wilcox and a distant cousin of mine. I did not know it at the time we were going to school.)" (Written by Keith Reed)
