Robert "Bob" Allen Flarity, 78, of Greenville, widower of Diane Barnes Flarity, died Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Born in Newport, KY, he was a son of the late William Harold and Mabel Gertrude Pribble Flairty.
Bob retired from the United States Air Force after receiving several awards while serving. He also retired from Michelin after 20 years and was a member of Buncombe Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina Sorrells (Rev. John ) and Angie Flarity; three grandchildren, Joshua Allen Sorrells (Dani), Lauren Deanne Sorrells, and John Dayton Sorrells; four brothers and sisters, Blanche Cox (Jay), Naomi Knight, Kenneth Flairty (Sue), and Doris Hofstetter; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Sonny, Donnie, and Jim Flairty; and a sister, Thelma Bray.
The visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest chapel. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
