Miss, Dec 28,-George Truett Graddy, 28, a vereran of World War
II, was burned to death yesterday afternoon when a fuel can in
his car exploded. Sheriff M C Hembree said it is believed a
five gallon fuel can being carried in Graddy's car overturned
and that it was ignited from a cigaret. 'He managed to get the
car over to the side of the road and get out,' Sheriff Hemberr
said, 'but he was already in flames.' The body was burned
beyond recognition and the car was destroyed. Mr. Graddy
leaves his wife, the former Melna Lauderdale, and two brothers,
James and Merrill Graddy. He had been reared in the Ecru
community. He was a farmer and dairyman. Browning Funeral Home
is in charge. Services were to be this afternoon at Ecru
Baptist Church.
