Notes |
- McGill Settlement, June 2, 1914 Okolona Messenger. The ride of
the pale horse has again passed through our neighborhood.
Another family circle has been broken by the hand of death.
Two broken hearted parents are wiping away hot briney tears of
sorrow and anguish for a cherished darling has been taken from
them. Last Wednesday, at one o'clock, the soul of Herman
Ishmael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Davidson, took its flight to
the home and paradise of God from whence it came. Two years
and ten months is a short time to live. But that was the
length of mortal life alloted to little Herman. The purpose
for which God had sent him to earth was accomplished. Jesus,
when he bowed his head on the cross of calvary and said 'it is
finished' saw the soul of little Herman Davidson in his eternal
plan of salvation. Somehow-someway, it is not for us to know,
we believe God saves all these little ones who are taken while
in their tender years. The bright light of a home, the pet and
darling of a household was not given up without a fight to keep
it here. After the little fellow was stricken, everything that
a skilled physician could do and the watchful care of a loving
father and mother all was done that could be done to keep
little Herman here, but God who doeth all things well thought
best to take the little soul unto himself. It is hard to give
these little ones up, and at such times as these we cannot be
reconciled to the fact that it is best so. The Lord had only
loaned this little treasurer for a short period, it's home was
in heaven with God and his angels. It's stay here on earth was
only a visit. It was too pure and innocent to remain here in a
world like ours. The little soul today is reveling in God's
paradise, celebrating its return to its home in glory. In
after years, when the parents of little Herman have grown old
and the time for them to enter the great beyond draws near, the
knowledge that they have a little angel there beckoning them to
come home no doubt will be sweet indeed. The little form in a
spotless white casket was taken to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
Thursday morning and there laid away to await the sound of the
Arch Angels trumpet, when all the dead shall rise to meet God.
Mr. and Mrs. Davidson have the sympathy of the entire community
in this sad bereavement.
