- Davidson Services Set Today - PONTOTOC - Milus Glen Davidson,
69, former county and city public school administrator, died
Wednesday at Pontotoc Community Hospital. Services will be 2
pm today at First Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc, with burial
in the Troy Community Cemetery. The Rev J Millan Looney, The
Rev John Edwards and the Rev R B Deline will officiate.
Browning Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Davidson's
career as a public school administrator spanned more than 30
years. Prior to his 1978 retirement he was employed by the
Mississippi Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for the
Blind. He maintained active farming interests throughout his
life. Long a leader in the work of the Presbyterian Church, he
was a ruling elder and clerk of the session at First
Presbyterian in Pontotoc. He was a Sunday School officer and
teacher and active in the work of the Presbytery of St. Andrew.
Davidson participated in a wide range of civic affairs. He was
a past president of Lions Clubs in Ecru and Pontotoc and a
district governor. He was a director of the Lions Midsouth
Sight Conservation Service, a Mason and a member of the
Scottish Rite. He served as a director of the Pontotoc
Community Hospital, Dixie Regional Library and chairman of the
Pontotoc County Library trustees. He is survived by his wife,
Lora Harris Davidson of Pontotoc; a daughter, Dr. Marilyn
Davidson Graves of Jackson; two sons, Dr. Dan B Davidson of
Jackson and Glen H Davidson of Tupelo; a sister, Annie P
Higgins of Troy and four grandchildren also survive. The
family requests that memorials be sent to the First
Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc, the Mississippi Lions Sight
Service or a favorite charity.
