CLIFFORD LYLE HILL FAMILY
Clifford Lyle Hill was born January 7, 1906 to Abraham (Abe) and Bessie
Hill in New York Township, Caldwell County. Abe and Bessie's family appear
elsewhere.
I attended the New York School all 12 years and was a member of the first graduating class of 1925 of New York High School. I lived and farmed in the New York community all my life. I was one of the first in the county to build my own tube radio and I also wired for electricity several homes in my neighborhood at the time REA was brought into farm homes in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
I married Ethel Ruth Mackey March 31, 1930. She was the daughter of Ben
and Ollie Mackey of the New York community. We have one son Fred Lyle, born
January 20, 1931. Fred is a graduate of Central Missouri State College,
Warrensburg and works for General Motors. Fred married Joan Quick June 13,
1953. They have four children: Douglas Lyle born May 12, 1954, Julie Kay born June 12, 1959, James Michael born February 5, 1964 and Kelly Ann born November 11, 1966. Fred and Joan live in Overland Park, Kansas.
Ruth died May 20, 1972 and is buried in the New York cemetery. I married Elsie May Logue Walker June 1, 1973. Elsie and I retired from farming in 1978 and moved to Hamilton, Mo. We are members of the United Methodist Church.
