- Obituary from Springfield News-Leader "James Hermon Pearce, 67, Palm Springs, Calif., formerly of Marshfield, Mo., departed this life Dec. 21, 2001. He was born to Hermon and Cleta Calton Pearce on Jan. 4, 1934, in Springfield. Jim was a graduate of Marshfield High School and from Drury College in Spring- field. He received his MBA degree at the University of Virginia, Darden School. Jim retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He was involved in the banking business for many years, and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank as an examiner. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Hermon; and an infant brother, Robert William. He is survived by his mother, Cleta Pearce, of Marshfield; his sister, Janet Jones and husband David, Sullivan; his sister Susan Mathis and husband Bob, Niangua; nieces; nephews; a valued friend, Janna Bradley; and numerous other friends. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 5, 2002, in the Marshfield Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Davis officiating under the care of Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice."
