Funeral services for the Rev. J.W. Foster, 83 retired Cumberland Presbyterian minister, who died at his home in Petersburg Tuesday morning of last week, were conducted Wednesday at the Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian church by the Rev. J.C. Simons, Winchester, assisted by the Rev. H.J. Burroughs and the Rev. D.B. Smith. Rev Foster was an active member of Elk Presbytery for fifty-two years. He retired from the ministry about ten years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Julia Wright Foster: four brothers,the Rev. J.A. Foster, Nettleton, N.J. Foster, Shelbyville; W.R. Foster and Golie Foster and an adopted daughter, Miss Pearl Bledsoe, of Unionville.
