  The Sterling that was a son of Jacob, supposedly had an older brother named Arris. From SORRELL ancestory board: "I happened upon your posting concerning Sterling Sorrell's middle name & remembered my grandfather, Lambert Sorrell, showing me his family history notes dutring a visit about 12 years ago. He had recorded Sterling's middle name as Pleasant. I made a handwritten copy of his notes at the time and have it somewhere in my papers. Let me know if you would like me to mail you a copy." Heather Smith "Here in lies the problem. I have always been told that his middle name was Preston. I have not been able to find any documents which list his middle name, always just the P. Did find a 1850 census in Moore Co NC which lists a Pleasan (sic) Sorrell (22 yrs) and his wife Margaret (30 yrs) living in the household of Dawson Tyson.
