  "She was the daughter of Covington Collingsworth of Knoxville, Tenn. and hermother's maiden name was Buckmaster. They (William and Lucy) were all Presbyterian and Democrats. Later when the Indians and the Spanish in the South became hostile, they migrated northward after they opened up the Great Northwest Territory for settlement around the Great Lakes Region. They resided for quite a long time at Alton, Illinois, where most of their family of ten boys were born and in 1841 they went to Westport, Richland County, Wisconsin, wherethey resided the rest of their lives. Here they acquired a large farm and also worked in the mines of Lafayette County. They are in the U.S. Census Reports, Richland County, Wis., District #20, in 1850.
