Baxter L. Morgan 49 well-known resident of Converse and Manager of Converse Mill company Store died suddenly at his home in Converse last night. Mr. Morgan was the son of John J. Morgan and the late Dovie Carpenter Morgan. He was an active member of Converse Baptist Church, the American Legion and the K. of P. Lodge at Converse.He had been connected with the Converse store for the past 25 years. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Henrietta H. Morgan, four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Mathis, Mrs. Frances Burdette, Miss Nora Morgan, and Miss Faye Morgan of Converse; Two sons, Pvt. B. L. Morgan Jr. of US Army, Michigan, Ray Morgan of Converse, one grandson Jerry Mathis of Converse, his father and step-mother Mr. & Mrs. John J. Morgan of Converse, one sister Mrs. R. B. Mauldin of Greenville.
