- Pinkney Houchins
Pinkney G. Houchins, born October 18, 1887, at Hallettsville, Texas, died Sunday, January 14, at 8 a.m. at Medical Arts Hospital, after a long illness.
Mr. Houchins is remembered as the dean of Harris County Court Reporters, having served 46 years in the Harris County District Courts.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Kathryn Wasam Houchins; daughter Lynda Lea Houchins Hurst; grandson, Harry Howard Hurst, Jr; great grandson, Harry Howard Hurst III.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Settegast-Kopf, Kirby Drive, with services to be held at Central Presbyterian Church, in which he served as a deacon, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 1968, with Rev. John Craig officiating. Burial was at Foret Park Lawndale.
Active pallbearers were Vernon Ponnisk, Don Jenks, Judge Ben F. Moorhead, Leon Ince, David Kennedy, A. C. Fridge. Honorary pallbearers were: Pete Fenoglio, Amos sweet, Sid La Rose, Dr. A. A. Ledbetter, Sr, Dr. William Moreland, Morgan Martin.
