Berthold, Mickie Sarah (Houchins)
Berthold, Mrs. J. M.
The sad news of the death of Mrs. J. M. Berthold reached here October 18, 1921. She had been in bad health for more than a year when she took a sudden change for the worse Monday with a severe headache which caused her death.
Everyone far and near were shocked and grieved to hear of one they loved so dearly to depart from this world, but she being so poorly, God in His mercy for the child of His care called her out of this world of sin and sorrow to be with Him in the heavenly home He has prepared for His children.
Mrs. Berthold was born February 14, 1869, in Lavaca county, where she lived with her parents until her marriage to Mr. J. M. Berthold, Dec. 3rd, 1869 [1889-jt] and to this union was born one child, Clara Georgia Berthold, who with her father are left to mourn her death.
A precious one from us has gone, whose place that can't be filled since the angel visited our home and took our darling away.
Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Berthold leaves three sisters and five brothers to mourn her death. They were all present at the funeral except one brother, the funeral being Tuesday, October 11 at 4 p.m. She was laid to rest in the Miller Creek Cemetery.
May God bless and comfort them in their hour of loneliness and sorrow may His grace and peace be with them now and ever more.
