- Mrs. E. H. Houchins
Mrs. E. H. (Eunice) Houchins, 87, of Rt 4, Hallettsville, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26th at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Maggie Brice, of Hallettsville.
Mrs. Houchins was born June 28, 1880, in Lavaca County, and was preceded in death by her husband on September 21, 1845. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
Mrs. Houchins was the wife of the well known Sheriff Gene Houchins, deceased, of Lavaca County.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 27th, at 3:30 p.m. at the Kubna Funeral Home Chapel here, and at 4:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, and with Rev. Dwight Reagan, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the City Cemetery here.
Surviving besides Mrs. Brice is another daughter, Mrs. Lois Pillar of San Antono; four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
