- On the 1860 census she is listed as domestic help. I do not know if there was a relation here or not. Some of these ages are off a little, but they sure do fit my Joseph.
Joseph King listed on the 1860 census is the same Joseph G. King who married Susan Gammill in 1865 in Bedford.

My Joseph King married and had at least one child, Elizabeth. We think the mother died and he remarried a Susan.
Joseph and Susan appear in the 1880 Arkansas census, Poland, Greene County, Arkansas. Elizabeth, or Betty, was married and living in that area also.

On one census, not the 1880, but 1910, he stated that his dad was born in Maryland and the mother was born in South Carolina.
The 1880 Arkansas census lists children of Joseph and Susan as M Ellen 15 (Manerva E.), Joshua N 13, Martha J, Ephraim 9, Mary I. 7, Jessee 5, Parlie 3, and Buennavista 9 months.
The first child, Elizabeth (Betty) was married to John P. Odell in Arkansas. Their first child was named William. She was born around 1861 in Tennessee.
