  Thomas Gilford Dillard Birth 1870 Arkansas, USA Death 4 Dec 1909 (aged 38–39) Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona, USA Burial Burial Details Unknown Memorial ID 197456487 Also went by the names of Charlie Thomas and Thomas Dillon after he moved to Arizona in about 1887. The use of aliases was explained in a 1959 article written by his daughter, Thelma. The biography of her father was extracted from a longer piece posted on familysearch.org. He was the second son of three born in Arkansas to Samuel Thomas Dillard and Mary Scott Dillard Whisenant. His father died when he was young and his mother married again to John M. Whisenant. The only census record found for Thomas was mis-transcribed as "Thomas Whiscrant" in 1880 in Hale Township, Garland County, Arkansas. He was shown with his mother, stepfather, two full brothers, GD and William and his half brother, Henry Edgar Whisenant. Later two other half brothers would be born. Although Thelma gives the birth date of August 15, 1870 for her father, the source of that information is unknown. It is somewhat questionable since the 1870 census for his parents was done on August 24, 1870 in Cold Bath, Clark County, Arkansas and he does not appear. The 1880 census record however confirms his birth year of 1870.
