Mr. Robert Ellis Pierce, age 68, of Shelbyville, died Monday, October 26. 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday, October 30, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Ron Dewitt will officiate, with burial in Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
He was born June 11, 1941, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late Julius ‘Doc" Pierce and Francis Davis Peach. He was an Executive Chef and operated Rebecca's Restaurant in the Shelbyville Inn for many years. He held membership in the First Church of The Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ives Pierce, of Shelbyville; two sons, Robert Pierce, Jr., and his wife Christy, of Leominster, Massachusetts, and Eric Pierce, and his wife Lori, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Kim Deducca, and her husband Jack, of Italy, Texas, and Lisa Smith, and her husband James, of Henderson, Tennessee; a brother, J.D. Pierce, of Clayborne, Texas; two sisters, Geraldine Hampton, of Shelbyville, and Connie Johnston, of Williamsburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Rebecca Jean, Shelby Pierce, Alex Milliken, Taylor Parker, and Tony Parker.
