- Funeral services for William (Bill) Reese, age 74, of Route 2, Box 94, Nacogdoches, were held Tuesday, March 26, 1968, at 3:30 p.m. in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel in Nacogdoches with interment in the Fairview Cemetery.
Officiating were Rev. M. A. Ervin, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, and the Rev. David Coker, pastor of the New Hope Congregation Methodist Church.
Mr. Reese died Sunday, Mar. 24, at 10:15 P.M. in the City Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
Born in Yoakum, Aug. 13, 1893, Mr. Reese was the son of J. T. and Louise Schott Reese. He was a retired railroad man and operated a grocery store in Nacogdoches. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a resident of the county since 1948.
Mr. Reese and Beryl H. Halton were married Aug. 31, 1912, and she survives him.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Allura Rhodes of Dallas; four sons, Morris R. Reese of Alvin; William Preston Reese of Waco, Victor Ray Reese of Nacogdoches and Douglas Reese of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Selma (Sis) Linhart of Kenedy; one brother, Tom (Percy) Reese of Hallettsvile, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were directed by Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home. A brother, Leonard (Ike) Reese of Sublime died only 2 months ago on Jan. 21 of this year.
