  From Floyd H. Lawson, November 1998: Mary Polly Ingle, dau of Peter Ingle and Catherine W. "Caty" Tune, was b. 1830 and d. 1847. She married John Clements. No one knows the cause of death; however, based upon the facts of the time, it would appear that she died in childbirth. She was buried in the original Ingle Cemetery in the "bottoms" near the Peter Ingle old home is located. There were several graves in that small cemetery; however, her grave is the only one which had a marker, when I was growing up in the area. When Old Peter Ingle died, the watertables were so high that he could not be buried there. So, Grandmother Margaret Elizabeth Herndon Ingle directed that he be buried upon the hill, east of where Mary Polly Ingle was buried. His grave appears to have been on land other than Peter's and Catherine's land The inscription on the grave in original Ingle Cemetery for Mary "Polly" Clements: "The Memory of Mary Clements formerly Ingle was born the 2nd Day of April 1830, and departed this life the 8th Day of April 1847, age 17 years. Put up by: W.D.Cheatham* *Wyatt Duke Cheatham married Elizabeth Ingle, b. 1820, the daughter of George Ingle, Peter's brother. She married Wyatt Duke Cheatham in 1835. She died 8 Nov 1858, age 38 years.
