CLAUDE W. "SARGE" EDMONDS, MSgt (Ret) USAF, age 72 of Dandridge, TN passed away, Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home. He was a retired MSgt of the U.S. Air Force following 20 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Swannsylvania Baptist Church and was a retired mail carrier of the U.S. Postal Service in Dandridge. Claude was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities and every opportunity to be with family and friends who he truly loved. Preceded in death by his son, Danny Edmonds; father, Frank Edmonds; brothers, Earl and Burnett Edmonds. Survived by his wife, Joy Edmonds; children, Kelli (Barry) Marlow and Scott Edmonds; grandchildren, Carissa Edmonds and Dakota Henry; mother, Pearl Chrisman Edmonds; sister, Wilma (Don) Park; brothers, Harold Edmonds and Johnny (Linda) Edmonds; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Bob and Betty Finchum, Jerry and Sandra Hinson and Mark Ponder. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to God's Willing Vessel Food Pantry, Swannsylvania Baptist Church, 921 Swannsylvania Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services, Wednesday, 11:00 am at Swannsylvania Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery with military honors.
