Letter from Mary Hodges to Edmund Hodges
Description:
Mary Hodges to her husband, Edmund, who had been arrested and imprisoned for bridge burning in Strawberry Plains, Tenn. She wrote of the efforts to secure his release, including measures in "this present Congress" and a "bond for any amount for your Loyalty." In a postscript, she added that "our representative to Congress stands pledged to recommend your relief as soon as Congress convenes."
