Notes |
- Newspaper article tells of the accidental death of Issac Freeman who lived near the Bedford Co. line near Glidwell's on Elk Ridge. He was described as an idiot given to fits and had attacked his mother late the night of May 6, 1872. A son named Franz, age about 15, hit Issac on the head with a rolling pin and Issac died. (This was probably the brother Issac because he was listed as an idiot on the census and his mother gave another son, Daniel F., the rights to her property until she died with the stipulation that he would provide for her and Issac until her death.) Cannot determine who Franz is as there was no child after Sam P. listed on the census of 1860 or 1870. The article was in the Fayetteville Observer and was taken from the newspaper in Bedford.
