Transcription: Entry 234 JAMES CLARK 100 ACRES State of Tennessee Cocke County By virtue of an entry made in the entry takers office for said county at Newport of No-- dated the - day of -- 1826. I have surveyed for JAMES CLARK JR. one hundred acres of land on the south side of French Broad River on the Irish Branch. Beginning at a black oak on a ride near the head of a hollow running thence forty seven and an half east one hundred and seventy nine poles to a white oak and a chestnut oak on the east side of a hill north forty two and an half poles to a beech of a steep hill thence north forty seven and an half west one hundred and seventy nine poles to a hickory and two beeches in a hollow south forty two and an half west eighty nine and an half poles to a chestnut oak and black oak south forty seven and an half East two poles to the beginning.
