Allwillda James, wife of John M. James, whose maiden name was Edmonson, was born near Hollow Springs, Mississippi, August 6th 1844, but was principally raised in Washington county, Arkansas where, on December 3rd, 1860 at the age of 16 years she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with John M. James, who survives her. She departed this life June 15th, 1900, at their residence near Forsyth, after an illness of nine days. Immediate cause of death, congestion. At the age of 22 years she made a profession of saving faith in Christ and united with the M.E. church of which church she has been an acceptable member until her death. She leaves a husband, son, and daughter, sister and brother and several grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Stone Chapel Sunday at 10 a.m. conducted by Dr. Baldwin. The remains were deposited in teh Forsyth Cemetery. The bereaved husband has the sympathy of many friends.
