Hello David; I have a little bit of information to plump out your "Related Families". I am the great grandaughter of James S. Rose and Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane James Rose. My grandfather was Marion Deonlus (Dee) Rose. Eliza Jane died on March 6, 1874 giving birth to William Talton Rose (who died as a young man). James Rose died on Sept. 19, 1890 in Vinny Grove, Washington County, Arkansas. Both Eliza Jane and James are buried in the Rose Cemetery there in Washington County (across the road from where they lived). Marion Dee Rose and Willie Rose came to Oklahoma (Indian Territory) in 1889 and Uncle Willie died not long afterwards. Dee Rose married (1) Mabelle Gibson of Texas on November 9, 1897 and had LeeVinia Rose in 1898, Omie Lee Rose in 1900 and Marion Burton Rose in 1902. Dee and Mabelle divorced and he married Martha LaVinia Douglass in 1910 in Enterprise, Oklahoma. They had Vera Dee Rose (Ross) - my mother in 1913; Virgil Bee Rose in 1914 (he died as an infant); Iris Velvo Rose (Mincher) in 1916 and Berna Lee Rose in 1918. Vera Ross died in 1994 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Berna died in about 2000. My mother was an excellent story teller and evidently Grandpa Rose was too. My grandchildren love to hear the stories that Mama told us when we were growing up; and they were mostly stories of Grandpa and his sisters and brother. My grandchildren call them "Stories from Great-Great-Great- Grandma's Attic" I own the family Bible that belonged to James and Eiza Jane Rose. He was the one that named their children and they had unusual (but rather melodius) names: Alwilda Brunetta Rose (Beeks) b. Nov. 25, 1861 died January 31, 1898. She was known as Nettie. Arminda Cemantha Rose (Reynolds) b. July 13, 1864; died in 1944 in Illinois...known as Mindy. Alpha Caldonia Rose b. July 9, 1866 (I think that she died pretty young too and I do not remember what they called her). Omega Olive Rose (Davis) b. Jan. 10, 1868... they called her Ollie. Margaret Susan Rose (McGill) b. April 23, 1870 died in 1925...she was known as Mag. Marion Deonlus Rose and his twin sister that died shortly after birth were born on Sept. 7, 1872 . He was known as Dee. He died on Aug. 12, 1962 in Okmulgee, OK. William Talton Rose was born on March 6, 1874 and died in 1895 in Indian Territory. These are the way that Great-Grandpa spelled their names too. There are a large number of Coheas buried in the Rose Cemetery as well as Beeks and Cherrys. James and his brother Thomas were both married to "Cohea" women at one time and some of the Cherrys went to Texas with Thomas and his mother and her family by George Lackey. There were also some of the Cherrys that settled in Oklahoma around Okmulgee and Henryetta. Sheri M. Ross Coffman
