  THIS IS NOT THE SAME ELIZABETH BALLARD. *1765 Elizabeth Ballard, daughter of Byrom and Eleanor, is born the 1st day of the eleventh month - birth recorded in the South River Monthly Meeting. === 1795-5-2. Goose Creek MM. Byrom & wife, Sarah with children Elizabeth, Judith and Phillip granted certificate to Westfield MM NC. [Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol. VI, p.349] === Notice that Amos is no longer on the list of children because of his marriage, but Elizabeth m. Joseph James in 1793 so that takes care of that Elizabeth. You can keep Elizabeth as a child of Byrom, but remove the marriage to Joseph James. This is the wrong Elizabeth. This Elizabeth was still living at home with her parents in 1795 when our Elizabeth Ballard m. Joseph James in 1793. === Sue Chappell says that Elizabeth died Feb 1813 in Clay Co, KY. http://genforum.genealogy.com/ballard/messages/3824.html === Note: It cannot be Joseph Rogers James who m. Elizabeth Ballard because they named a son Joseph, and Joseph Rogers James would not have named two sons Joseph James. Unless Joseph J. James is not a son of Joseph Rogers James and instead is a son of Rollings James and is younger than we thought with just the one marriage to Lazina.
