This is Mary Fanny Clark b. after the death of Jesse Ballard James.

The birth date of 18 Sep 1821 for Elizabeth Campbell James does not
fit either census of 1860 or 1870. Of course she had a problem giving
her age it seems because she says she is 36 in 1860 and 41 in 1870. A
Debi Perry says that an Elizabeth Campbell Bridges was born on that
date in 1821 and married a Harry Clark in 1863 after Jesse Ballard
James. I use the age she gave in 1860 of 36. I figure she was trimming
off a few years as a widow. But if she had been born in 1821 she would
have been 40 years old in the 1860 census and 50 years old in the 1870
census. That is not even close to the ages she is giving. Since she is
not direct blood line I chose earlier not to spend any more time on
it. I put about 1824 OH for her birth. Since Sarah born about 1854 is
not on the 1860 census with Jesse Ballard James and Elizabeth, and was
born before their marriage in 1856, we can safely assume that she is
not Jesse's either. I do not put Sarah or Mary as Jesse Ballard James
daughters. I just did not put them in the data base at all. So if
Debi is right then Sarah is a Bridges and Mary is a Clark. Since she
has an exact date maybe she has a document of some kind to back it up.
Again, since Elizabeth Campbell is not the blood line I just plan to
ignore her other marriages and give an approximate date for birth. The
only reason I can think of as to why Elizabeth would go back to James
is because of divorce. If you ever find any proof for that 1821 date
let me know so I can update.

Flo found her notes from the granddaughter of Elizabeth Campbell.
According to the notes Elizabeth was married four times. 1st to a Mr
Bange. They had a son Tomas W and a dau Darkus Margaret. Elizabeth
married 2nd Mr Bridges. They had a dau named Sarah. Then Elizabeth
married 3rd Jesse B James and had Nancy Ann and James (Jimmy). 4th
Elizabeth married Harry B Clark and had a dau Fanny.

A Nancy Blackburn is found in the Court Records of Ozrk Co, MO in 1858
charged with murder. Jesse B. & Elizabeth James, Mina James, John
Williams, John Blackburn and Thomas Wesbgano posted her bail. Genelle
Feemster Stevens wrote in 1991 "Further research now makes me certain
that the Nancy Blackburn charged with murder was a sister of Elizabeth
Campbell, that was the 2nd wife of Jesse Ballard James."
