• Notes

  The 1870 census said that Joseph was born in NC. He was born in IN and he says so in all other census except the last one where he is old and living with the Gavins. Obviously someone else gave that one because it says he was born in MO. All others say IN. including the ones where he was still at home. That 1870 census is really a mess. Yes, Eliza's family and myself think there is one Sarah. Maybe a neighbor gave the info on the 1870 census. I can not find a marriage record for Joseph and any Sarah. From Jerry Rathmann
