In the name of God Amen, I Elijah Teague, Sr. of the State of South Carolina and Laurens District being in perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for his mercies, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament disannulling and Revoking all former Wills and Testament..
First of all, I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors-
Net I desire that all my lawful debts be paid and all debts due to me be collected..
Next, I order that my land shall be divided into two parts. Beginning at a pond at the corner of the glade field where the fence ran between the glad field and the nine acre field Joins said field till it joins James Boyd’s land, then running the other ways along said fence row and keeping the same course of said fence row till it strikes the land of Daniel Mathes, Dec.
The upper part of part that joins James Boyd’s land I order to be sold and money arising from the sell thereof I desire that it shall be equally divided amongst my four daughters namely-Elizabeth Hipps, Sarah McAdams, Mary Wilson and Catharine McAdams.
The lower part whereon my buildings stands with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belong I give to my daughter Rebekah Teague, then after all my lawful debts is paid-I give unto the heirs of my son Joshua Teague, Decd. Five Dollars ai give unto my son Robert Teague five dollars I give unto my son Abner Teague my dictionaries, the remaining part of my estate I give unto my daughter Rebekah Teague be it more or less-and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Abner Teague and son-in-law, Joseph Hipps to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament and entirely revoking and disannulling all former will and testament, and I do hereby ratify and confirm this to be my Last Will and Testament..
In testimony whereof I have in the presence of the undermentioned witnesses set my hand and affixed my seal this second day of October-In the year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and twenty-four.
