- William HEADRICK, a soldier of the Revolution, was born 25 Dec 1744 in Lancaster, Pa. His wife is not known. He probably died in the late 1830’s and is buried at HEADRICK’S Chapel Cemetery in WEARS COVE , SEVIER CO., TN. On Mar. 6, 1835, he applied for a pension due to his war service. He was old and infirm and friends went to the home for his statement.
William HEADRICK stated he was a musician and played the fife during his military service. At one time he was under the command of General WASHINGTON. He left PA when the war was over and moved to Sullivan Co., TN in about 1821. Somewhere he lost the family Bible. The friend who took his deposition said that WM HEADRICK was a Dutchman (probably German). Apparently he was living with his son Henry as the census shows an old man in the home. (File S 4355)
Although there is no known written record of the children of Wm. HEADRICK were found, some of them are known. Children: John m Lizzie MYERS; ? Katy HEADRICK m George CAYLOR; Henry HEADRICK of SEVIER CO.,, TN; ? Dan HEADRICK; Rebecca HEADRICK m WM DUNN on 31, Jan 1816 in Greene Co., TN.
It may be that Henry HEADRICK of SEVIER CO., was the father of WM Harrison HEADRICK.
