Thomas Odell Sorrells, 81, of Shelbyville died Tuesday at his home after a brief illness.
Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Carney officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

U.S. VeteranThomas Odell Sorrells 81 of Shelbyville died Tuesday, September 20th, at his home after a brief illness. He was born March 9, 1930 in Petersburg, Tennessee; a retired CMSgt. USAF (28 years); Veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War; and a retired Owner/Operator for North American Van Lines.
He was the son of the late Willie Edward “Bill” Sorrells and Annie Irene Burns Meszaros. H is survived by his wife of 50 years, Naomi V. Sorrells of Shelbyville; three sons, Thomas Ry (Sandra) Sorrells of Shelbyville, William Edward (Marie) Sorrells of Eagle River, Alaska, Michael A. Sorrells of Shelbyville; a daughter, Terri Lynn (Al) Brittain of Murfreesboro; a sister, Ruth Nielsen of Gardnersville, Nevada; ten Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren.
Graveside Services with full military rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24th, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Rev. Jack Carney officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
