- 30 Apr 1700, Essex Co., VA Records, Vol 10, pg 53. Will of John Sorrell, metions wife Dorcas (Dorcas was a 2nd wife) children: James, John, Eve, and child unborn.
Does anyone have any information on the Sorrell's from Essex and Old Rappahannock County, Virginia.
A John Sorrell died in Old Rappahannock County circa 1692. A John who I believe to be his son married a Dorcas Ingram, widow of Tobias Ingram about 1690.
A James Sorrell died in Essex County about 1718.
There is also an Edward Sorrell from Essex County.
Lastly, a Joseph Sorrell, who I believe was the son of John and Dorcas Sorrell, married Hannah Sale between 1733 and 1745. They had children: Reuben, John, Elizabeth and Mary.
Joseph died in Essex County about 1773.
