Jul 1839, pg. 179 County Court of Obion Co., TN lists T.P.C. Russell and Thomas Sorrells as the Administrators of James Russell, deceased.
20 Aug 1839, pages 169-172, both Thomas SORRELL and T.C.P. RUSSELL signed with their marks Account of Sales made of personal property of the estate of James RUSSELL, Deceased (Some names listed of interest): Thos. P. C. RUSSELL, Harvey RUSSELL, Thomas SORRELL, Martin VANCE, John Long, and many others.
Obion County court record gives John Long (the husband of Margaret Malinda Russell Long) guardianship for the minor children of James Russell and states that he is their brother-in-law!!!!! The children listed are Nancy O. Russell, Sebre Russell and Neety Russell.
Mar 1840 term, pg 205 Thomas Russell & Thomas Sorrells, Adms of estate of James Russell returned an account of sales of said estate. They are to lay off a dowerage of one years provisions for the support of Russell widow. (No name given!)
Also another possible relative--dates just make it hard to pinpoint--is a Malinda RUSSELL to Pinckney BELL marriage 18 Aug 1866 in Obion Co., TN. Elizabeth named her first female child Malinda, making this a very probably relative, but due to dates, probably a niece rather than a sister.
Very likely a Rosey RUSSELL who married a Francis Gideon 30 Dec 1839 in Obion Co., TN is related.(I now believe that this is his widow!)
There is also a Sarah A. married to a James W. Brown on 26 Jul 1850 in Obion Co., TN.
There is a Sylvia RUSSELL living with Margaret RUSSELL WHITESIDE and husband Jonathan in the 1850 Census.
