  John L. Gilbert came from GA, an old Census says. Just across the Savannah River from where the Fosters lived in Abbeyville District. John L. Gilbert lived in Franklin Co., GA Seems he was brother of Doster (or Dock) Gilbert. I was told that they lived at the Fullerton, place, or above, from their location in the census. Land deed recorded 7 Feb 1868 in Lincoln Co., TN lists siblings of John C. Gilbert as: John Morton and wife Artemesia (Gilbert), W. C. Wagster and wife Mary Ann (Gilbert), and William Morton and wife Sarah (Gilbert).
