Mrs. Pearl Clark, 67, life-long resident of Pemiscot county, died last Saturday, December 6, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital and funeral services were held at the First Baptist church here on Monday afternoon.
The Rev. Guy Magee, pastor of the church, and Rev. Wilfred House of Hayti officiated and burial was in Maple cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Born in Pemiscot county on April 17, 1891, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Doc and Eva Sorrell. On March 5, 1911, in Hayti, she was married to Birce Lee Clark, who passed away on February 12 1957.
The family lived for several years in the Concord neighborhood, but for the past eighteen months she had made her home in Caruthersvile with her son, Champ Clark. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to her son, she leaves a brother, C.S. Sorrell of Portageville Route 2; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Autry, Mrs. Osa Barrett, Mrs. Charles Reed Jr., and Mrs. Kenneth Lawrence, all of Hayti; two granddaughters, Mrs. Donna Faye Crain of this city and Miss Alice Lynn Clark of Macon, Ga.; also two great-granddaughters, Adrian Ann and Karen Renee Crain.
