Note below by Andrew Sorrell: (2015)
Richard Sorrel’s “real Estate” included his manor Hyde Hall in Great Waltham, Essex. Richard received Hyde Hall because his father’s “heir apparent” John Sorell, III, died before his mother did (who had a life right to Hyde Hall) and John Sorell, III’s two children died young.
Elizabeth Sorell’s maiden name was Elizabeth Wise. Her father was John Wise, Gentleman of county Berkshire (located west of London). I believe Elizabeth’s mother was Elizabeth Hale (1662-. ---).
Elizabeth Wise Sorrel’s natural life was abt. 1682-2/13/1752.
Dr. Richard Tyson, Jr.’s father was Dr. Richard Tyson, Sr. (abt. 1687-1750). His mother was Elizabeth Hale (1700-July 1769). His mother’s father was John Hale (abt. 1675 - abt. 1720) of London. John Hale’s father was Richard Hale, Jr. (abt. 1638-abt. 1703).
Dr. Richard Tyson, Jr. lived from 9/7/1729 to 8/9/1784.
Elizabeth died before her son, Dr. Richard Tyson, Jr. so Richard Sorell’s real Estate (including Hyde Hall) was to go to his mother’s “heirs and assigns” after his death - however, Dr. Richard Tyson, Jr. was his mother’s sole heir as listed in her Will and after her died in 1784 it is not certain who received his real estate (and Hyde Hall).
John Sorrell Hay lived from abt. 1708 to December 1756.
£ 200 in 1738 equates to £ 29,510 pounds or $44,898 dollars in 2014 amounts.
