Eva S. Jobe, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Britthaven at Guilford.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at Rehobeth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Eva was born in Hot Springs, Ark., on October 13, 1925. She met her husband, Coy W. Jobe, while he was stationed there during World War II. They returned to Greensboro and she was employed by Cameo Hosiery and later by Gilbarco. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Jake M. and Anna Stephens Sorrell; her husband, Coy W. Jobe; brother, Jim Sorrell and her beloved sister, Winnie Byrd.
Surviving are her sons, Jerry W. Jobe and wife, Linda, Carl S. Jobe and wife, Bobbie; daughter, Margaret Jobe Tatum; grandchildren, Jason E. Jobe, Kevin A. Jobe, David Jobe, Stephanie E. Bentley and husband, Brian, Rebecca S. Tatum, James R. Tatum; great-grandchildren, Clair E. Bentley, Elijah J. Bentley, all of Greensboro, N.C. Also surviving are her brothers, Walter R. Sorrell of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Jerry M. Sorrell of Sapulpa, Okla.; sister-in-law, Lottie Sorrell of Hot Springs, Ark., and brother-in-law, Neil M. Byrd, Sr. of Greensboro, N.C.
