Notes |
- I read the discussion you are having with Elizabeth. I contacted her about 2-50 acre parcels of land surveyed for Barnabus Thurman. (My GGG Grandfather). The surveys were done in 1824 and 1826. I would be happy to mail you copies. The research was done by Herb Sharp, also a Thurman relative. It sounds like you go back through Barnabus also. I would be interested in you "line" back to him. I go back to Barnabus through William, James Carroll and George (my grandfather). (AG Williams)
I ran across you discussion regarding Barnabus Thurman (My GGG Grandfather). Herbert Sharp of Sevierville did a massive amount of research on the Thurmans and among that research are 2 surveys for Barnabus of 50 Acres each. I'm not sure where the land is located. I'd be more than happy to send you his research along with those surveys. I would be interested if we could locate that land. My line comes down from Barnabus through William to James Carroll and then to my Grandfather George Walter. George Walter came to Kansas as a young man about the time his younger brother James Pearl was attempting to rob the Sevierville Bank in 1899! Quite a family history there! I visited the cemetery at the Eden Church near last fall. A lot of my "Thurmans" are there.
