Letter from sister M.M written to brother, March 6 1864 "fill the heart of a lone sister..." "Your Tar Heel Friends are all well."
*As for me, I have an interesting little school, a good boarding house, and by the way, a lady friend, whom I'll introduce as ? Larenna Lowry. She is a perfect lady and I love her."
He (William Randolph McEntire) has requested books, and she (M.M.) remarks that she'll reply.
She (M.M.) writes that the nearest Masonic lodge is Mount Herman at Asheville. Signed: "...the deepest affection of your sister's heart. M.M.
On the reverse side it appears is intends to forward her letter to: A.W. Bridges M.M. Louisburg, NC (Franklin Co.) "Do all you can for Maggie Masonically, I am impatient to have her take the ? AM.(Y?) R.
Sandy Mush (Buncombe County, near Asheville, NC has a "Sandy Mush" community) Dec. 1 18?? She (M.M.) mentions a recent revival mentions not having seen money since the war mentions: "Cousin Bob McKee (Robert McKee, husband of Mary Matilda Wells) is anxious to go to Atlanta.."mentions: cousin Jake W. (Wells) carting off apples to Tenn. mentions: "Buncombe friends are right-side up" signed: Your sister, M.M. (Margaretta "Maggie" MCINTIRE and Mary Matilda WELLS, wife of Bob McKee, as well as Jake Wells are 1st cousins 1 time removed. Their common ancestors are Thomas WELLS and Mary O'BRYAN.)

Comrade William Randolph McEntire , only son of Bevil and Elizabeth Wells McEntire , was born on January 6, 1839, in Buncombe County, N.C. His youth was spent in North Carolina under the guardianship of his paternal grandmother. Rilla Poston McEntire .
