The 1900 census of the Parmleysville area of Wayne County Kentucky lists James A MIller as the head of household 94. He is 30 years old and was born December 1869 in Kentucky. Also in this household is Esther J (wife, 17 years old, born March 1883). Esther and James Miller are living next door to Milton and Lula Vaught.

The 1930 census of Indianapolis ward 15, Ring Avenue, of Marion County Indiana lists James A Miller as the head of household 198. He is 50 years old, renting a home, a machine operator in a factory, and was born in Kentucky. Also in this household are: Ester (wife, 37 years old, a machine operator in a factory, born in Kentucky, father born in North Carolina, and mother born in Tennessee), Ralph (son, 10 years old, born in Kentucky), and Juanita (daughter, 6 years old, born in Canada).

The 17 July 1935 Affidavit of Descent for Louisa McIntire lists Ralph Miller as living in Indianapolis Indiana. No mention is made of Juanita. Juanita may have died before 1935. Ralph and Juanita were the only children of Easter and James.
