  Ann Redd was perhaps the oldest child of Thomas Redd, Jr., born in 1730 or shortly thereafter, probably in Essex County. She married Thomas Broaddus in Caroline about 1749. They had quite a large family, at least eleven children. Her husband died in 1787, but she lived on until 1826, dying at the age of 96 as Caroline County's oldest citizen. On the 1820 census it appears she was probably living in the household of her son Thomas Broaddus, Jr.
