South CarolinaBarnwell DistrictBy Gideon Hagood Esquire, OrdinaryWhereas John Redd made suite to me trant him litteres of administration of the estate and effects of Job Redd Sinies lab of the District and State aforesaid deceased.These are therefore to cite and admonish all and singular the kindred and creditors of the said Job Redd deceased, that they be & appear before me, in the Court of Ordinary, to be held at Barnwell Court House on Friday next after publication herof, to shew cause, if any they have, why the said administration should not be granted.Given under my hand & seal this second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one & in the twenty fifth year of American Independence.Gn HagoodPublished on the fifteenth day of March 1801 at Public meating by the the Rev George Daulaughter.Memorandum the 22nd day of April 1808 presonally appeared before me Richard Tredaway Esquire one of the justices assigned to keep the peace in this district Wm green Lewis Weathersbee and gessc? george being three of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattels of Job Red who being first sworn made oath that they want to make appraisment of all and singular the goods and chattels ? and ? (ready money only excepted) of Job Red Deceased ? ? be produced by John Red administrator of the Estate of the said Job Red deceased and that they would return the same certified under their hands unto the said John Red within the time presented by law. Memorandum this day of 1809Personally appeared before me ___________ Esquire __________ one of the justices assigned to keep the peace in Barnwell Districtbeing of the appraisers appointed to appraise the goods and chattels of Job Red deceased who being down maketh oath that they would make a fast and true appraisment of all and singular the goods and chattels ready money or excepted of Job Redd dec. as shall be produced by Thomas Redd administrator of the Estate of the said Job Redd deceased and that they would return the same certified under their hands unto the said Thomas Redd within the time prescribed by law.
South CarolinaBarnwell District Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Redd, John Lord, Adam Lord and David Cochranare holden and firmly bound unto Orsamas D. Allen Esquire ordinary for the District of Barnwell in the full and just sum of one thousand dollars to be paid to the said Orsamus D. Allen or his successors, ordinaries of the District, or to their certain attorney or assigns. To which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves and every of us, our and every of our heirs , executors and administrators for the whole and in the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with one seals and dated the 20th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine and the the thirty fourth year of American Independence.The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Thomas Redd administrator of the goods, chattels and credits of Job Redd deceased to make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands ? or knowledge of the said Thomas Redd or unto the hands or ? of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do ? into the Court of Ordinary aforesaid for Barnwell District when he shall be thereunto required and such goods, chattels and credits do well and truly administer according to law and do make a fast and true account of his actings and doings therein when required by the said court and all the rest of the goods, chattels and credits which shall be found remaining when the account of the said administrator the same being first allowed by the said court shall deliver and pay unto such persons respectively are entitled to the same by law and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the same being proved in court and the executors obtain a certificate of the probate thereof and the said Thomas Redd in such case if required render and deliver up the said letter of administration Then the obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.Signed sealed and hisdelivered in the presence of Thomas R ReddJno C Allen markhisAdam L LordmarkDavid CochranSouth Carolina By Orsamus D.
