Family-Placed Death NoticeSORRELLS, Pearlie Mrs. Pearlie P. Sorrells, age 95, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010. She was born November 1, 1914 in Jackson County, Ga., but reared in Banks County, Ga., the daughter of the late Robert Homer Patton and Ida Everlealer Whitsel Patton. Mrs. Sorrells was a homemaker and a member of Carrollton First Methodist and formerly a member of East Point First Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Sorrells; brothers, Billy Patton, O'neal Patton, James Patton and Calvin Patton and a sister, Margaret Jones.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, James Leonard & June Sorrells of Carrollton and a daughter and son in law, Janis & Mark Greene of Ashland, KY.; grandsons, Mark Sorrells of Loganville, Van Sorrells of Carrollton and Jimmy Sorrells of Brasselton, Baker Christie of Stockton, WS., and Daniel Christie of Pembroke Pines, FL.; also 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Martha Dye and Pastor Van Sorrells officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Sorrells, Van Sorrells, Jimmy Sorrells, Baker Christie, Daniel Christie and Andrew Sorrells. Interment will follow in College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Children's Home, 500 S. Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA., 30030-4197 or Murphy-Harpst Children's Centers, 740 Fletcher St., Cedartown, Ga. 30125-9907. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
