OBITUARY: James E. Sorrells

James Ervin Sorrells, 72, of Blythe, passed away on Aug. 24, 2013 at Palo Verde Hospital.
James was born May 25, 1941 in Austin, Texas and was raised there as well. In the 1970s he drove as a long haul truck driver for Benny Brookins and worked his last years driving for Woody Mallett.
He is survived by his daughter, Cora Sorrells; sons, James Ervin Sorrells Jr., Eishmal Sorrells and Edward Sorrells; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
James wishes were to be buried where he was born in Texas.
There will be a visitation for local family and friends on Aug. 28, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at Frye Chapel in Blythe. Services will then be held at a later date at Kings-Tears Mortuary in Austin, Texas.
SORRELLS, James Ervin, 72, truck driver, of Blythe, Calif., formerly of Austin, died Aug. 24.
Visitation 1 p.m. Friday, King-Tears Mortuary. Services 11 a.m. Saturday, St. John Baptist Tabernacle. Burial Brown Family Cemetery, Manchaca. Arrangements by A Life Celebration by Franklin.
