Life Legacy
Mrs. Kimberly “Kim” Ann Burnett Sorrells, a faithful and loving wife, mother, daughter and friend won her battle against cancer on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior completely healed.
Kim, age 47, was born in East Point, Georgia on November 11, 1965, the daughter of Clarence Burnett and Betty Lee Burnett.
She was a 1983 graduate of Carrollton High School; worked at Carrollton Eye Clinic for 28 years as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and was a founding member of Hope Fellowship.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Van R. Sorrells; daughter and her fiancé, Meghan Sorrells and Blake Williams; son, Andrew Sorrells; parents, Clarence and Betty Burnett; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Cathy Burnett; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and John Pittman; brother, David Burnett; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and June Sorrells, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Latimer and Pastor Cory Fowler officiating. Music will be by Kevin Sherry.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pittman, Stephen Pittman, Seth Burnett, Buster Young, Dr. Roger Rossomondo and Dr. Dan Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Carrollton Eye Clinic.
Interment will be in West Georgia Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Fellowship for a prayer garden to be built in Kim’s memory. Contributions may be mailed to Hope Fellowship, P.O. Box 1007, Carrollton, GA 30112.
