- My father's last name was Sorrows. His grandfather was born near Rome Georgia and his name was John W. Sorrows. I have two photos of Wiley Sorrows among my photos passed down to me. Would be interested in any information about John W. Sorrows. I have his birthday as May 2, 1861, but it is just one year off of the information posted, and there is the Wiley Sorrows, so I am thinking this is the same family. He married Delia Covington (born Aug. 4, 1864, died August 17 1927. I do have a few good photos of John W. Sorrows, but none of his wife, which I would love to have. I do know that they had 7 children, but that the marriage did not last. Their first, George Jefferson Sorrows, was my father's father.
I want to clarify that John W. Sorrows married Delia Covington. It looked like I was referring to Wiley the way I posted my response. Sorry.
